Coding Creations

We have been learning how to code using Scratch. Students showed the learning they have been doing in Manaiakalani this year by creating a game. We spent the 2 sessions exploring and problem solving our way through to end products. Make you head to their blogs to check out their creations! Some of the creations are amazing and show great perseverance and creativity...some show that the creation journey went a little off track (like mine!).

Check out my creation (You might think its more of a story than a game and you'd be right! My mum also told me I like to beat to my own drum and I guess she's right!). I didn't quite figure out how to get little Digo to disappear from the end of my story...I might need to get a student to help me with my problem!

Is that what you meant?

Today we spent time learning about CODING. Students need to get their bee to the hive. Our focus was on setting out instructions for a buddy to follow. This was the first step to show the students that our instructions need to be explicit and that they can be interpreted in different ways depending on the reader or language used.

Positive Online Relationships

We have been learning about online relationships during our weekly Manaiakalani sessions. Students were asked to create a poster with the key points they have learnt. I too created one!
